In Memoriam Leo Lewis 02/24/1960 - 03/28/2010
Great friend and one of the founders of Columbus FC Red Star, Leo Lewis
passedaway after long and brave battle with cancer. Leo was instrumental
in development of top level soccer in Columbus area. Amongst many good
attributes, Leo was a simple great guy, loyal friend and what he have done
for soccer community is beyond evaluation. Therefore, City of Columbus
decided in his honor to dedicate field #10 at Woodruff Farm soccer complex
as "Leo Lewis field". This field was favorite field for Leo which saw many
great moment for Red Star and he saw his kids playing there, the most
recently in November where he saw very last Red Star game in which his
daughter Jenna Lewis scored wonderful goal and played fantastic game -
for her dad!
Leo is survived by his wife Kim, children Jesse, Bradley, Jenna and the
entire soccer community. We've lost a great, great supporter and friend.
Rest in peace dear friend!
